Construction and Completion of Retaining Structure as Protection to Existing Viaduct Piers at Taman Bukit Saga, Ampang

The Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) was officially launched in June 2023. The 24.4 km stretch with one toll plaza connects Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil to Phase 1 Cheras-Kajang interchange. Serving as an alternative to the congested MRR2, especially for commuters traveling from Kajang to Kuala Lumpur or Gombak, this highway aims to alleviate traffic congestion. Notably, it is projected to take only 25 minutes on average to reach the city center, and features a 56.4-meter-high segmental bridge, the tallest structure in the Klang Valley. The hope is that this infrastructure will positively impact road users and further alleviate traffic congestion.

The project scope includes the site clearance of the work areas, including cutting and disposal of affected trees, site survey, and provision of the survey plan with cross-sections at 3-meter intervals for reviewing the proposed location for the protection walls, earthworks, environmental protection works, micropiling works, and testing of selected piles, reinforced concrete base slab with walls, gabion wall, and slope reinstatement and turfing. The project commenced on 21st  February 2022 and was completed and delivered to SUKE on 20th August 2022.
